Sumi-e painting is said to flow from the artist's soul down the arm, dancing out of the brush and reflecting onto the paper. It is this intimacy that connects with the viewer. In the style of the ancient Chinese Literati genre, going back more than a thousand years to the Tang dynasty, the watercolors are splashed layers upon layers on rice paper. Taking the way of expression.
Vicky likes naming character traits for additional subject matter she paints, finding that each subject seems to have its own strength of personality. Vickie brings the simplicity of Asian design to the live images that are original paintings. These paintings have been treated with UV coating, making glass unnecessary.
Following are some of her previous works.
